MARQUETTE - Two 19-year-old men allegedly involved in a Nov. 22 break-in at the EZ Stop in Marquette Township appeared in Marquette County District Court earlier this week.

James Michael Hall of Marquette and Jerry William Hedrich, no address available, are charged with one count of breaking and entering a building with intent, a 10-year felony.

Hall is being held in Marquette County Jail on 10 percent of $25,000. Hedrich is being held on $25,000 cash bond.

The two are scheduled to appear in court at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10 for a preliminary examination.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, a witness called 911 to report two males breaking into the business around 12:55 a.m.

The suspects allegedly gained entry through a side door of the business, stole cartons of cigarettes, liqueur and a case of beer before fleeing on foot. They were identified by witnesses and tracked down to a residence on West Fair Avenue. They were arrested and lodged at Marquette County Jail.

Assisting agencies were the Michigan State Police Canine Unit, Marquette City Police Department and Northern Michigan University Public Safety.
