NEGAUNEE, MI - Dorothy Kathryn Baldini, 88, of 413 Maas Street, Negaunee, died at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Eastwood Nursing Center with family by her side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.

Dorothy was born February 4, 1924 in Ishpeming to August and Lydia (Maki) Nuorala, attended school at National Mine, and was a lifelong area resident. She was employed as a nurse's aide, retiring from the Acocks Medical Facility.

Mrs. Baldini was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ishpeming, and also the VASA Lodge. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and doing aerobics at the Negaunee Senior Center. Spending time with family was very important to her, and she expressed her love by preparing meals for everyone.

Surviving are 2 sons: Gary (Vicki) Baldini of Ishpeming and Craig (Cathy) Baldini of Negaunee; 3 daughters: Kathie (Charles) Swan of Gladwin, MI, Dorree (George) Sleight of Plymouth, MN, and Anette (David Rose) Chaperon of Negaunee; 11 grandchildren: Melissa Baldini, Bradley (Arial) Baldini, Chet and Carl Baldini, Joshua and Jessie Swan, Lyndsey (Christoper) Taylor, Vanessa (Matthew) Scherer, Jason Sleight, and Nathan and Hannah Chaperon; 3 great grandchildren: Vincent, Harmon and Lydia; 1 brother: Walter (Barbara) Nuorala; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred A. Baldini on November 17, 1991, and a sister, Flora 'Bola' Scarffe.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ishpeming with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens. The family will greet relatives and friends at a luncheon following the service at the church on December 22nd In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Dorothy's memory.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Eastwood Nursing Center and also to the caregivers from Lake Superior Hospice.
