Christina M. Goodreau

BIRCH TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Christina M. Goodreau, age 63, of Birch Township, entered eternal life Friday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. November 16, 2012, at her home, in the loving, comforting care of her family and her dear friend Lynn after fighting a long battle with ALS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Christina was born February 25, 1949, in Marquette, Mich., a daughter of Ernest and Teresa (Christensen) Lancour and was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School. Following graduation from high school she worked for Western Auto until she married David Clement and the couple moved to Elpaso Texas. Christina then returned to Marquette in 1969 and worked for Jack and Jill Clothing. She and David had three children together and the couple later divorced in 1978. In 1980 she married her soulmate, Ronald P. Goodreau and the couple resided in Marquette where she worked as a caregiver for many years. Christina was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved the peaceful serenity of living in the woods. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, collecting bears, baking, canning, crafts, rummage saleing, camping and especially loved campfires. In her earlier years she loved hunting with her husband in Ralph, Mich. Christina was always famous for her holiday dinners and gatherings with family.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald P. Goodreau; daughter, Wendy (Brad) Gentry of Indianapolis, IN; her son, Scott (Vivian) Goodreau of Birch Township; her daughter,Tina (Zane) MacKenzie of Hancock; her stepdaughters, Tammy Goodreau of Harvey, Sherry (Dan) Lumpford of Negaunee; her grandchildren, Michael Wager, Nicole (Jason) Payne, Shelly Wager, Tony Touchinski, PJ Touchinski, Jessika Touchinski, Kimberly Mackenzie, Alexander Mackenzie, Chelsea Goodreau-Ellis, Jesse Goodreau-Ellis, Jadin Goodreau-Ellis and Shaylynn Goodreau-Ellis; great-granddaughters, Dakota Payne and Peyton Touchinski; sisters, Cheryl (Stan) Williams of Leslie, Mich., Brenda (Rhett) Dulany of Marquette, Sandy (David) Zinski of Marquette; several nieces, nephews, cousins; her loyal dog, Max; her treasured cat, Pussin; and her best friend Lynn O'Neill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law, Marie Stickney; her son-in-law, Dennis Wager and her great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Payne.

Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: U.P.
