Girl Scouts collecting for project

MARQUETTE - The Marquette and Gwinn troops of the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes Council, is partnering with the local chapter of the American Red Cross by collecting items for a Comfy Kits service project. The kits directly benefit local victims of a disaster, primarily for those victims who suffer a loss during a house fire or even during a large wildfire.

The community may drop off items from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Father Marquette Elementary School in Marquette. Local troops from Marquette and Gwinn will assemble the kits. Items needed include: disposable razors, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shave gel, lotions, tissue packets, shampoo, deodorant, bar soap, wash cloths, face towels, children's and infant shampoo, Beanie Baby style toys, crayons, coloring books, small diapers, disposable baby bottles, receiving blankets, diaper rash cream, baby blankets baby oil or lotion, and baby powder.
