Northern Michigan to induct four into hall of fame Saturday

April 12, 2013 - Matt Wellens

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University will induct four new members into its sports hall of fame on Saturday during the annual student-athlete awards banquet.

The dinner — only the finest from NMU’s Dining Services — and program begin at 6 p.m. in the Great Lakes Room of the University Center. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.

If you can’t make it, but want to catch the banquet, you can watch it here.

This year’s inductees include former athletic director Ken Godfrey, Nordic skiing and cross country All-American Caitlin (Compton) Gregg, NCAA diving champion Dwight Hoffman and volleyball All-American Lucia (Pereira) Shyiak.

NMU Sports Information Director Calvin Larson wrote up some solid profiles on all four hall of famers, plus compiled photo galleries of each Wildcat, so check those out as well.
