Put it on a diet

There is much lip service about reducing waste, over staffing and redundancy. When any federal program is cut or reduced, many always make the excuses to keep it, no matter how abusive or non-vital. We’re supposedly unable to live properly without them and the mass of taxes to fund them. Those deeply reduce funds for many personal needs and private aid efforts.

We have swollen, unelected bureaucracies that make rules with the force of law, with their own unelected courts. That does not mean there are not any bureaucrats needed to do some useful work. Federal programs are touted as the most effective and kindest and most necessary. In reality, state and local programs are often, voter controlled, better, more transparent and more economical.

Federal bloat has grown for decades. Both parties back it through huge government, legislators and voters are responsible for much more. The Trump administration is making significant reductions, finally. For example, the department of government efficiency has discovered many abuses, $150 million in the first 100 days of the Trump presidency alone, that’s just Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, defrauded by millions, personal data is falsified.

There’s double dipping. Moving to another state and drawing benefits there too. They aren’t checked well by the feds. There is the swollen Department of Education with over eight times the growth of bureaucrats than the growth of students they oversee, since it’s creation. They and our public schools suck up billions of increasing taxes while providing inferior learning in math, science and reading, etc., then many other countries. We are low on the list. Our public schools need strong competition to improve, from vocational, private, religious and home schools. these non-government schools are documented often to get better results.

These are just the tip of the iceberg as deep problems reside in many departments. Many reports and books have described them and have been ignored. We have become a government of too many people run for those people and controlling the rest of the people. when so many people are employed by government, dependent for their income, benefits, healthcare, insurance, etc., there’s always a danger of too many voting for the party that hands out the benefits. Other vital policies get opposed or ignored.

The same with the many who are addicted and dependent on massive entitlement, and welfare, etc. these damage people’s necessary incentives to work. Many don’t or won’t work enough to care for themselves and their families when they are mentally and physically able, even when there is opportunity. No matter how much some deny it, that is the truth. Not only can it be personally observed, but there’s also accurate research available to substantiate. our most important ways not the only ones of helping others should be private work. This supports us, families, churches, charities, donations, trusts, grants, loans, business investment, job, creation, and debt reduction, etc.

Many of the much hated and envied rich do these things. Many art rich anyway, because of exorbitantly, high federal taxes, combine with burden some state and local taxes, inflation, and growing expenses.

Instead of being stereotype and condemned, these should be credited with encouraged in their private deeds. Our founding fathers knew the dangers of a two powerful and controlling central rule. that’s why they clearly limited constitutional federal duties. It is possible to avoid much abuse and outrageous taxes with private, state and local efforts. The ancient Greeks had similar problems. A wise philosopher once said, “Democracy ends with enough citizens find they can help themselves to public funds.” We have not had a real democracy in decades, but an obese federal gorilla. Many millions now support putting the greedy monster on a much needed diet.
