Put hope first

To the Journal editor:

Hope for the New Year with the COVID-19 vaccine coming. Let’s hope that will slow down the spread of the virus.

Also come Jan. 20 our new president Joe Biden will take over and another hope that our country will come together to help all people, mostly those who really need help to make a living and care for their family. Let’s hope and pray for those health care workers, many who serve in other areas, law enforcement, those providing food in our stores, farmers, truck drivers and those working in the stores. And don’t forget the men and women who serve our country in our armed forces to keep us safe and help us when needed.

The next hope is for all of us to work together to help each other. We are the people of this great country to realize that many in the world do not have homes to live in, enough food to eat or even water to drink so it might be time to look at the blessings we have. Just to mention the mild weather so far coming into January not much snow or real cold temps.

For me, I put my hope and trust in the Lord or as I’ve written in my (letters) before our money says in God we trust. As a county and people the more we do that then we can make it a good and caring 2021. Help one another and practice love not hate.

So to you all not only in the U.P. of Michigan but the USA, Happy New Year and may God continue to bless our country.
