Jenn Klipp backed

To the Journal editor:

Over the last 10 years of friendship with Jenn Klipp, I have admired her commitment to the children in our community.

When you watch Jenn interact with young people, you immediately notice her sincere interest and compassion. Along with her husband Taylor, the Klipp’s have worked tirelessly to give back to the Marquette community through charitable and volunteer service.

As the parent of a MAPS student and a professional educator, Jenn understands the necessity of parental participation and broad community engagement to ensure we graduate students who are ready to meet the needs of our community and realize their full potential.

As a teacher in the Ishpeming school district, Jenn Klipp has the real world experience to help inform discussions and make practical decisions that will foster the academic ability of our children. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom to regional and statewide leadership roles.

We are currently faced with increased challenges to student well-being and the conventional delivery of education. To succeed, school leaders must unite a growing and changing Marquette area community by listening to and learning from the diverse voices of our students and families.

We must fortify practices and traditions that serve all students while having the courage to change those that don’t. We need school leaders that have demonstrated a commitment to education, a real world understanding of the challenges facing MAPS families, and the vison to prepare our students for a 21st learning experience beyond the classroom. Jenn Klipp is that leader and worthy of your vote in November.
