To the Journal editor:

While the nation is embroiled in the final days leading to the presidential election, the outcome we have the most control over is right in front of us — our local elections.

Two Marquette Area Schools Board of Education seats are open. We, Carrie and Wally Pearson, would like to express our support for Jenn Klipp and Jen Ray for those positions.

In our experience, Jenn and Jen are highly intelligent and compassionate people invested in our community and our children. They’ve raised their families here, volunteered their time and expertise in many capacities, started and ran local businesses, and been effective educators.

Simultaneously, they have been part of the public school system as parents, committee members, and advocates for an equitable educational experience for all children.

We support Jenn Klipp and Jen Ray with confidence that they will each contribute their unique talent, perspective, and experience to the MAPS Board of Education.
