Supports Cambensy

To the Journal editor:

There is an election on Nov. 7, to fill the vacancy left after the untimely passing of John Kivela.

Sara Cambensy is the Democratic Party candidate for this seat and is the most qualified candidate running to represent the issues and concerns facing the residents of the 109th District.

People downstate think of the Upper Peninsula (if they think of it at all) as a tourist destination filled with people who lead a simple idyllic life, gathering sustenance by foraging for food. They have no knowledge of the issues in the U.P. concerning items such as infrastructure, employment, education and training, environment, electric power, health accessibility, public safety, drug addiction, mental health treatment, domestic abuse and many others.

We need a person who can assemble the votes necessary to form programs and resources to address the needs of the U.P. in general and the 109th District in particular.

We need Sara Cambensy.

I urge Democrats to vote for Sara Cambensy. I urge Independents, Republicans and Greens to vote for Sara Cambensy. Don’t stay home on Nov. 7. Go to the polls and vote for Sara Cambensy. There has been consistent Democratic representation for the residents of the 109th District since at least Dominic Jacobetti.

Get out and vote for Sara Cambensy. She has the experience and the “SISU” to get the job done.
