Letters to the Editor: Edit hit nail on head
To the Journal editor:
My husband and I were grateful to read The Mining Journal editorial on July 5 suggesting that the president of the United States should rise above cyberbullying.
I believe it was Thoreau who reminded us, “The man who is dissatisfied with himself, what can he do?”
People of all races, gender, and religion are able to find common ground when kindness and compassion are practiced in our public arenas.
One somewhat cynical expression of this practice is, “Kill them with kindness; they will have no idea where you are coming from.”
Let’s keep public civility the norm in our amazing Upper Peninsula.
