Classic Cars on Third Car Show great fundraiser
Saturday marks the third annual Classic Cars on Third Car Show, a chance to check out some beautiful machines, but more importantly, an opportunity to honor a young woman who was taken from this Earth too soon.
The show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on North Third Street in downtown Marquette, between Park Street and Michigan Street.
Registration, which is only $5, will begin at 10 a.m. next to the Third Base Bar. The event will be open to the public for viewing until 4 p.m., with awards being presented at 3 p.m.
“We’re excited to host this car show on Third Street for the third year in a row,” said Tara Laase-McKinney, Marquette Downtown Development Authority promotions and events coordinator, in a news release. “We’ve gotten a lot of good feedback from this event, there are a lot of people from across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin who are excited to head to Marquette for this show.”
All proceeds from this classic car show will benefit the Women’s Center in remembrance of Marquette resident Jessica Drummond. Jessica died in a domestic violence incident several years ago, a promising young life cut short.

We hope Third Street is packed with car lovers, enjoying a chance to see some fine motor vehicles while supporting an important cause at the same time.
