RTI Surgical continues to do great work in Marquette

You have to love the continuing good work coming out of RTI Surgical in Marquette.

Company officials recently announced that RTI has been assigned a patent developed by five co-inventors for a spinal rod and screw securing apparatus and method.

Formerly Pioneer Surgical Inc., RTI Surgical, is headquartered in Alachua, Florida, but has a location at 375 River Park Circle in Marquette.

According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the co-inventors are Jason P. Sandstrom, Matthew F. Hanfelt, Daniel Rae Robinson and John White, all of Marquette, and Jeffrey A. Hoffman of Anchorage, Alaska.

According to government patent office documents, the patent involves a “minimally invasive and open surgery surgical system for implanting spinal screw assemblies to be connected by a spinal rod.”

This company has, over the years, quietly become an industry leader.

It’s nice to see the firm getting the positive notices that it deserves.
