Kirsten Uotila
MARQUETTE, MI-Kirsten, daughter of Gary and Jacqueline Fleming was born on January 30, 1969.
Her love for animals started on her first birthday when she received a puppy named Buck and the two were inseparable for 12 years. She always had a dog or cat and sometimes two, three or four. She often said she never met a dog she didn’t like.
Her favorite toys were Smokey the Bear, that Grampa Newton gave her, and a red phone, until she learned to dial the real thing, which came soon enough. Her favorite pastime was spending time on the beach in Silver City with her Gramma Newton. Her heart of gold shined through with love for animals and the less fortunate. In 1987, she graduated with her Class at the Ontonagon Area High School.
Her first marriage to Ben Jousma brought forth a son, Bradley who was her shining star.
On August 6, 2011, she married Michael Uotila. They made their home in Marquette and spent many weekends camping at Twin Lakes with the Uotila Family.
Kirsten is preceded by her Grandparents Harry and Marge Newton, Glen Fleming and Betty Bezotte. Father-in-law Michael T. Uotila.
