MARQUETTE, MI – Anthony (Tony) Ombrello age 94 of Marquette entered eternal life on November 28, 2025 with his son by his side at Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

Anthony also known as Pal to family and close friends, was born January 7, 1931 in Ishpeming. On November 10,1951 he married Bernice (Bea) Stolpe eventually raising their three children. In January 1952, Anthony was drafted into the USMC and served 2 years. In 1971 Anthony and Bernice and family moved back to Marquette to take a job with the Marquette Public School system taking care of the pool here and working on boilers along with other maintenance duties. Anthony enjoyed many years of camping with his family and friends. Eventually Anthony and Bernice bought their hunting camp where he spent many hours. He absolutely loved being at camp and deer hunting especially with his son and grandson. Their great grandson Jordan spent many hours at camp with Bea and Tony learning to ride 4 wheelers and having fun. Eventually his hunting days came to an end when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and went to D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans. He was not able to spend time at camp with the other great grandkids, but he enjoyed hearing stories and seeing pictures of his great grandson Liam and great granddaughter Greta learning how to hunt. He was always amazed with his young granddaughter Greta and the deer she shot.

Anthony also served as a softball commissioner for MASA (Michigan Amateur Softball Association) for several years and he also did a little umpiring in some of the local leagues here in Marquette. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.
