Howard Taskila
ISHPEMING, MI – Howard Alan Taskila, 73, of South 1st St., Ishpeming, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, August 4th, 2022, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, with his loving wife at his side.
Howard was born May 29th, 1949, in Hancock, to Donald and Elizabeth (Heath) Taskila, attended Negaunee Public Schools, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked several years as a shift boss at the Foundry in Ishpeming, and following its closure, he worked in housekeeping at Marquette General Hospital until his retirement.
Mr. Taskila was a member of VA Romo Post #3165, Negaunee VFW Auxiliary. In his spare time, Howard enjoyed trips to the casino, taking cruises around Presque Isle to see the wildlife, playing Pinochle, and taking road trips with his wife.
Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Judy (Wainio) Taskila; two brothers, Philip Taskila of Negaunee and Gene (Patsy) Taskila of Hartford, CT; his sister, Donna (Michael) Jarvi of Lake Bluff, IL; sister-in-law, Trudy Taskila of Negaunee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gary Taskila. Honoring Howard’s wishes, no public services will be held.
