Thomas Kevern

GWINN, MI – Thomas J. Kevern, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, in the comfort of his home of 50 years, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Tom was born on July 16th, 1941, in Marquette, a son of the late Thomas H. and Pauline F. (Mosca) Kevern and graduated from Ishpeming High School. He was a Gwinn resident for many years.

On November 12th, 1960, Tom married the former Lorraine Lindholm. She has been his Queen of 61 years and together they built a family and a business, the Gwinn Insurance Agency. His life was based on faith and family and not a moment was missed of his children’s lives. His passion was hunting, the great outdoors and his community. He instilled this passion in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; creating a lifetime of memories.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lorraine; three children, Wayne T. (Kim) Kevern of Gwinn; Lori A. (Quentin) McRoberts of Lodi, WI and Steven J. (Dona) Kevern of Gwinn; grandchildren, Nicole (Bryce) Hattamer, Wyatt (Taylor) Kevern, Eric (Lizzie) McRoberts, Danielle (Paul) Benesh, Zack Kevern and Kori Kevern; great-grandchildren, Gage, Dawson, Hazel, Ella, Mylo, Thomas, Grayson, Mason, Max, Charlie, and Knox; also surviving is a brother, James D. (Bob Oelke) Kevern of Pompano, FL.

A service in remembrance of Tom will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 12 noon, at Gwinn United Methodist Church, 341 W. Jasper Street, Gwinn with Rev. Leon Jarvis officiating. The service will be live streamed at: https://my .gather.app/remember/th omas-kevern.

The Kevern family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 10 a.m., Wednesday, until the time of the service, in the church to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to the Events Center at the UpNorth Lodge in Gwinn for food and fellowship.
