Bruce R. Ruona

Bruce was born in Ishpeming, on April 14th, 1957, a son of the late Margaret M. (Cunningham) and George R. Ruona. He attended the National Mine School and was a graduate of the Westwood High School. Bruce furthered his education and received his bachelors degree in accounting from Northern Michigan University.

He worked as an accountant in Manitowoc, WI, prior to returning to Ishpeming, where he had worked in the IT Department at the Bell Memorial Hospital. Bruce was one who kept to himself, enjoying the simple things in life which included cooking or just watching a cooking program or spending time outdoors, especially a kayaking excursion.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Shelba Johnson of Cheboygan, nieces and nephews – George (Ann) Niemi, Rhonda (Scott) Gravedoni, Dennis (Kristy) Leanes, Joseph (Carley) Leanes, Darleen (Marc) Goyen, along with numerous cousins, great-nieces and great- nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Garceau, father, George Ruona, and stepfather, Joseph Garceau.

Per Bruce’s wishes cremation will take place, with a private family service to take place at a later date.
