GWINN, MI – Glenn Ernest Caron, Jr., age 54, of Gwinn passed away Thursday, December 30th, 2021, at his home.

Glenn was born in Escanaba, Michigan, to Glenn, Sr. and Eva Caron on May 15th, 1967. He was a 1985 graduate of Gwinn High School after which he enlisted in the United States Navy. Glenn served for four years as an air traffic controller on the USS Nassau and traveled all over the world. In 1987, Glenn started dating the love of his life, Pam Kivela, whom he married in February 1990. After leaving the Navy, Glenn worked for a local construction company and then, in 1994, began working with the Michigan Department of Corrections, from where he retired in 2020. Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and grilling during his free time. He was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan and loved attending games at Lambeau Field. Most of all, Glenn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family and friends with his whole heart.

Glenn, Jr. was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Kivela; brother-in-law, John Kivela; sister, Elizabeth Caron; and mother-in-law, Patricia Kivela.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Caron of Gwinn; his daughter, Macey Grund and her husband, Samuel; daughter, Chelsey Markle and her husband, Jonathan; his parents, Glenn, Sr. and Eva Caron; grandchildren, Gavin and Roslin Grund, Josie and Brynn Logghe, and Addison Kivela and Westley Markle; sister, Rachael Caron; sister, Melissa Pascoe and husband, Steve; brother, Daniel Caron and wife, Alice; sister-in-law, Kris Kivela and partner, Gale Knight; sister-in-law, Sandy Kivela; brother-in-law, Kevin Kivela and wife, Kristin; Sierra King and Elizabeth Shaw, whom he thought of as honorary daughters; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, family, and his co-workers at the Marquette Department of Corrections.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Thursday, January 6th, beginning at 11:00 am. The gathering will conclude with veterans honors and the sharing of stories, memories, and tributes at 2:00 pm. Masks are encouraged but not mandatory.
