Mae L. Lamond

Mae was born in Republic, Michigan, on November 7th, 1944, a daughter of the late Eino J. and Ruth L. (Kotaniemi) Nyback. Mae attended the Republic Schools.

Mae was a homemaker and a volunteer EMT for Republic Township for twenty-five plus years. She received the Earlene Kinnunen meritorious service award in 1993 for her work as an EMT.

Mae was happiest spending time with her family, she loved playing Bingo and going to the casino.

Mae is survived by four children; Bud (Carla) Lamond of Evart, MI, Wendy (Bill) Henry of Phoenix, AZ, Connie (Sterling) Schultz of Clarksburg and Vicki (Debby) Lamond of Lomira, WI, ten grandchildren; Brandon (Charlla) Lamond, Cory (Alexis) Lamond, Trevor (Sara) Henry, Ty Henry, Mitchell (Melissa) Schultz, Hunter Schultz, Austin Kerkela, Tori Kerkela, Zain Kerkela, and Zowi Kerkela, honorary grandkids, Dylan, Archer, Signe, and Aili, six great-granddaughters; Alessa, Mackenzie, Oaklynn, Riley, Kaiya, Adalyn, a great-grandson Daniel, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband; H.L. “Bud” Lamond, three brothers; Reino, Raymond and Ronald Nyback, and six sisters; Lorraine Rominiecki, Judith Mattson, Ruth Fischer, Lois Kayser, June Ahtonen and Elaine Hartman.

A private Celebration of Mae’s life will be held at a future date.
