ISHPEMING, MI – Sally S. Truscott, age 84, of Ishpeming, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at UP Health System Bell in Ishpeming following a brief illness.

Sally was born in Ishpeming on May 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Myrtle (Pohlman) and Earl Knight. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1954. In high school, Sally loved to dance with friends at the Ishpeming Youth Center. Sally’s career included working in Washington DC at the Pentagon and at the Cleveland Cliffs Main Office in Ishpeming in various departments including the Geology and Mail Departments. Later in life, Sally enjoyed working at the Clipper Hair Salon as a receptionist for many years, retiring at age 80.

Sally married the love of her life, Donald Truscott, on June 15, 1957. Together they had an infectious love for life that enriched their relationship and the life that they shared for 47 years. They were devoted to their family and actively involved in everything that their children and grandchildren participated in.

Anyone who visited their house could see this from the many pictures that adorned their refrigerator and walls. Sally’s laughter was contagious. She loved to read and visit the Ishpeming Library weekly. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed playing volleyball for over 50 years, most notably with the Ishpeming Community Schools program.

Survivors include a daughter, Vikki (Bernie) Anderson of Marquette; a son, Michael (Susie) Truscott of Ishpeming; a sister, Jeanne (Joe Lichterman) Knight, of Two Rivers, WI; a brother, Gerry Knight, of Houghton; grandchildren – Brooke (Brad) Spindler, Bradley (Paige)Anderson, Vanessa (Alex) Grignon, Benjamin Anderson, Elijah Anderson, Tara Truscott, Tanner (fiance Erin Cronyn) Truscott; great grandchildren – Rylee, Sadie, and Camden Spindler, Walter and Bo Anderson, Quincy, Jozie, and Kirby Grignon, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members in the Truscott family.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Donald in 2004 and two sisters – Margaret Filizetti and Grace Knight Hocking.

Per Sally’s request, a private interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
