Richard Rochefort

DELAVAN, MN – Richard Robert Rochefort, Sr., age 81, of Delavan, Minnesota, died on Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family.

Richard was born on May 3, 1939 in Fayette, Michigan to Aimee and Mabel (Robere) Rochefort. He married Bonnetta “Bonnie” Boynton and together the couple had several children. He and Bonnie divorced, and he married Judy Kolve, and they also had several children. Richard and Judy later divorced, and he remarried the love of his life, Bonnie, on January 25, 1985.

Richard worked as a mechanic at Seneca in Blue Earth, Minnesota for over 30 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding snowmobile, taking camping trips back to Michigan, playing cards, watching western movies, watching the races, and playing with his dog. Richard also enjoyed working on projects in his shop, gardening, and decorating his yard for the holidays, and listening to his old-time country music on the radio.

Richard loved his family dearly.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nancy Bartley, Richard Rochefort, Jr., Rick Rochefort, Helen Talisman, Holi Germain, Lisa (Bill) Rohlik, and Valerie (Chris) Balfe, Tina Marie (Mark) Serrano, Sheila (Richard) Hoehn, Lisa (Kevin) Lange, Geneva (Taifa) Nyiendo, David (Nicolette) Rochefort, Angela (Todd) Lange; step-children, Tammy Pomranky, Tina (Jim) Marsh, and Kelcy (Shawn) Beck; siblings, Ellen, Lorna, and Ione; 43 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; second wife, Judy; sisters, Mary, Evelyn, Betty, Stella, Rose; brothers, Leon, Leslie, Norman, Eli, Stanley, and Ivan; and two grandchildren, Jordan Rochefort and Cameron Tremblay.

A visitation was held at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, MN, and at Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising, Michigan on Friday, December 4, from 4-7pmCovid precautions will be observed as directed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Masks will be required, and the funeral home staff will be assisting with social distancing.Fr. Michael Ocran will conduct committal prayers on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
