MARQUETTE, MI – Donald M. Beaudoin, 89, of Marquette, died Friday afternoon, October 23, 2020, at U.P. Health System-Marquette.

Don was born on June 29, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Marcus and Marcella (Pocius) Beaudoin. He was a 1949 graduate of Graveraet High School and on June 16, 1962, he married the former Lois Steele at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette.

Don was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for over 30 years. He was a member of Monsignor Nolan B. McKevitt Council #689, Knights of Columbus, Marquette Elks Lodge # 405, American Legion Post #44 and the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of St. Peter Cathedral.

In his free time, Don loved to golf with his wife, Lois, was an avid fly fisherman and duck hunter, and from 1955-2019 he never missed a season of duck hunting. He enjoyed deer hunting at Camp Halfrack and his Thursday trips to the Negaunee Rod & Gun Club to shoot sporting clays with friends. Don was also an avid golfer and had made four hole-in-ones in his life.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Beaudoin of Vienna, VA; two sons, Daniel Beaudoin of St. Louis, MI and Scott Beaudoin of Marquette; two grandchildren, Abigail Zal Malmud and Adam Marcus Malmud; a brother, Gerald (Susan) Beaudoin of Fairfield, CA; also several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents, was his wife, Lois, in 2004 and a sister, Nancy Taipale.

The family would like to thank the Marquette County Medical Care Facility and caregiver, Maureen Jensen for the wonderful care they provided.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 12 Noon at St. Peter Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
