Ronald T. Patron

MENOMINEE, MI – Ronald T. Patron, 87 of Menominee, MI passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2020. Ronald was born on March 30, 1933 in Ishpeming, MI to the late Theodore and Anna (Kangas) Patron. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1951 and earned his bachelor’s degree in music from Northern Michigan University in 1955. On March 28, 1959, Ronald married Marcia Jackson in Ishpeming, MI. In 1960, Ronald graduated with the first Master’s Degree class at Northern Michigan, earning a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision. He was a music teacher in Baraga, Champion and Menominee Area Public Schools retiring from Menominee in 1984. An avid musician, Ronald’s passion was playing the drums. Following his retirement from teaching, he was able to play in different groups throughout Michigan and Wisconsin loving every minute of it. He further enjoyed fixing drums and fishing. He was known to many fellow fishermen as “The Teacher”. Ronald was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife: Marcia of Menominee, MI; children: Jeff and Pam both of Green Bay, WI; 2 grandsons: Luke and Jake; and siblings: Theodora (Fred) Magnuson, Gail Robertson and Dean (Paulette) Patron.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his aunt and uncle who raised him: Harold and Helen Simons; and brothers: Peter, Paul, Duane and Meade.

Funeral Service for Ronald will be held at Christ Lutheran Churchin Menominee on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Cole presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either Christ Lutheran Church or Red Horse Parkinson’s Alliance in Ronald’s name.
