MARQUETTE, MI – Millicent P. “Millie” Miron, 94, of Marquette, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 4, 2020 at Norlite Nursing Center.

Millie was born on June 22, 1926 in Baraga, MI to the late Leo and Laura (King) Brandvold. She was a lifelong Upper Peninsula resident.

Millie worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Marquette Senior High School, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed traveling, RVing, dancing and spending time with her family.

Millie leaves behind the legacy of her family with countless treasured memories shared with all her family and many dear friends.

Survivors include four children, Dale (Karen) Miron of Marquette, Gary (Kathy) Miron of Annandale, MN, Debbie (Randy) Girard of Marquette and Cindy (Don) Peterman of Marquette; 13 grandchildren, Eric, Jeff, Jason, Todd, Tami, Nikki, Sean, Tessa, Annee, Renee, Lindsey, Kory, and Cassie; 15 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lexie, Campbell, Cooper, Luke, Ben, Ava, Jude, Leland, Lennon, Lochlan, Lottie, Stella, Blake, and Viviana; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernie Sorelle, Stan and Pearl Rajala and Darlene Miron; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Miron in 1983; two sisters, Kate Varley and Betty Saari; three brothers, Ron and Glen Tollefson and Leonard Brandvold; also a special friend, Tom Stauffer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with family attendance only on Wednesday, August 12that 12 noon in St. Peter Cathedral with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. There will be no public visitation. Burial will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Millie’s grandchildren will act as her escorts.
