Susan L. Kinnunen
ISHPEMING MI – Susan L. Kinnunen, age 63, longtime resident of 211 S. Main St. Apt 3, Ishpeming passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 after a yearlong battle with cancer in the loving care of her family and nursing home staff at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Susan was born in Laurium, MI on June 9, 1956, daughter of the late Norma (Lehtola) and Waino Kinnunen. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1974. Susan worked as a nurse’s aide at local nursing homes and most recently at Cedar Hills in Ishpeming.
Susan enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino with her friends and family.
Susan is survived by two daughters, Kim (Brian) Wismer of Green Bay, WI; Kelly Stone (Nick Sharp) of Ishpeming; a son Gordon (Stacey) Stone of Ishpeming; 8 grandchildren, Noah, Madelyn and Garrison Wismer of Green Bay, WI; RaeLynn Raisanen, Gage Stone, Brynn Way-Lanala, Matthew and Maverick Cox of Ishpeming, two brothers, Ronald (Barbara) Kinnunen of Ishpeming; Roger (Patty) Kinnunen of Ishpeming, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place with private services to be held later.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming Health and Rehabilitation Center, UP Home Health and Hospice and all the family and friends that helped Susan throughout the past year.
