Neil J. White

NEW LONDON, WI – May 29, 1936-March 30, 2020. Neil J. White, age 83 of New London, WI, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with COPD. Neil was born to the late Elmet and Elva (LaCosse) White on May 29, 1936 in Marquette, MI. He was united in marriage to Marlene “Honey” Bjorne on April 15, 1978 in Hortonville, WI. Neil proudly served in the U.S. Army for 3 years as a Light Weapons Infantryman, and his life was fulfilled with several endeavors, retiring from his own HVAC business in 1997. In their younger years, Neil and Honey enjoyed traveling with many friends on their motorcycle and then later in their motor home. He cherished time spent with family, playing cribbage and many other card games with friends, and watching sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings and the Green Bay Packers.

Neil is survived by his wife, Marlene; children Steve White of Marquette, MI; Dan White of New London, WI; Mark (Karen) White of New London, WI; DeAnne (Jim) Foye of Marquette, MI; stepchildren Janis (Lee) LaFreniere of Ishpeming, MI; Jeff (Ann Mason) Heidemann of Basalt, CO; Julie (Julie Wydeven) Heidemann of Appleton, WI; grandchildren Sheena (Justin) Oberg of Peshtigo, WI; Emma (Ian) Wetzel of Marinette, WI; Kate Wydeven of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren, Cloey and Cooper Oberg; siblings Pat Fletcher, Sara Vaessen, Paul White, and Kathy (Ron) Kerr; along with several nieces and nephews.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill, stepson John Heidemann, and grandson Karl White.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caregivers of ThedaCare Hospice and all the medical staff who cared for Neil.

Due to the current state-mandated regulations, a private family gathering to celebrate Neil’s life will be held at a future date.
