Matthew Allen Koivuniemi

MESA, AZ – SUNDELL, MI – Matthew Allen Koivuniemi, age 49, formerly of Sundell, entered eternal life Wednesday, April 1, 2020, in Mesa, Arizona, in the loving, comforting care of his family.

Matt was born November 23, 1970 in Marquette, a son of Harold and Clara (Hoff) Koivuniemi, Sr. He moved to Mesa, Arizona in 2009.

Matt enjoyed listening to the country music radio stations and watching the Dukes of Hazzard on television.

Survivors include his sisters, Bonnie Koivuniemi and Sharon (Gary) Hall both of Mesa, AZ, Darlene (Paul) Anderson of Sparta, and Kathy (Lee) Haynes of Marquette; his brother, Harold “Butch” Koivuniemi, Jr of Negaunee; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents; and Bonnie’s husband, Mike Berg.

Interment will be made in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham at a later date.
