Thomas G. Luhm
GWINN, MI – Thomas G. Luhm, 86, of Gwinn, died peacefully Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans.
He was born June 5, 1933, in Duluth, MN, a son of the late Caleb and Mabel (Rude) Luhm.
Thomas served in the US Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran and served on bases in Mt. Clemens, MI, Japan, Sumpter, SC, and Gwinn. He retired in 1973 with the rank of Tech Sergent. Following his retirement, Thomas worked as a charter boat operator for special services at KI Sawyer AFB.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed shooting pool and participated in pool leagues in Gwinn. He will be remembered as a “jack of all trades”.
Thomas is survived by three children, Thomas (Vivian Murphy) Luhm, Julia Wakkuri and Jody Luhm, all of Gwinn; grandchildren, Tina, Chris, Heather, Stephanie, Sarah, Michael and Darren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred (Darlene) Luhm of Duluth, MN and Catherine Westman of Duluth, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joyce H. Luhm.
There will be no services at this time.
