Geraldine M. ‘Gerry’ Larsson

Born May 8, 1926 in Marquette, a daughter of John and Lillian (Pleau) Higgins, Gerry was a lifelong Marquette resident. While in high school, she was employed at Guelff Printers doing general office work and graduated from the Bishop Baraga High School in 1944.

On July 6, 1949, she married Julius Knute Larsson and together the couple later opened and operated their own import car dealership, Larsson Motors, Inc. Following many years of service to the community, the couple sold their business and retired. Gerry was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Gerry is survived by her sons, Lance (Patti) Larsson and Kirk (LeAnne) Larsson both of Marquette; her grandchildren, Angela (Nick) Davis, Nicole (Travis) Grim, Melissa (Ryan) Moren, and Justin (Nichole) Temple; great-grandchildren, Harlow, Cadyn, MaKayla, and Addisyn; brothers, John Higgins of Marquette and Bill Higgins of San Luis Obispo, CA; many nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friend, Marion Scullion.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julius; a daughter, Julie Ann Larsson; three brothers, Howard Higgins and his wife Martha, Robert Higgins, and Francis Higgins; her sister, Agnes Timmering ; brother-in-law, Tim Timmering; and sisters-in-law, Reeta Elgland and husband, Paul; and Diana Higgins.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Wednesday, January 29, beginning at 5:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Rev. Greg Heikkala will officiate. Spring interment will be made in the Park Cemetery.
