ISHPEMING, MI – Stuart C. “Bert” Ring, age 67, of 1120 Highland Circle #3, Ishpeming passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 5, 2019 of an apparent heart attack at his home.

Stuart was born in Ishpeming on September 18, 1952 son of the late Helen C. (Larson) and Creighton F. Ring. He grew up in Ishpeming and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1971 and then attended the NMU Skills Center. Stu worked for 30 years for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. starting at the Pioneer Ore Improvement Plant and then at the concentrator at the Empire Mine for many years.

Stuart was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed deer hunting with his sons, an activity he took part in yearly and participated in just a few weeks ago. He was most proud of his family and cherished watching his children and grandchildren in there various sporting events. Bert loved his daily walks along with watching the wildlife that he fed at his home. His yearly trips to Georgia were a mainstay of his life in recent years, which enabled him to see his son Jason and his family.

Survivors include his wife of the past 48 years, Christine “Deedee” Ring of Ishpeming; two sons – Jason (Michelle) Ring of Warner Robins, GA and Jeremy (Lisa) Ring of Ishpeming, MI; 4 grandchildren – Taylor, Autumn, Chandler and Rylee Ring; a sister Sharon (Lester) Hainsey of Ishpeming; two brothers – David (Sheryl) Ring of Ishpeming and Scott (Chris) Ring of Negaunee; mother-in-law Laverne LeClair of Ishpeming; father-in-law John Nardi of Negaunee, sister-in-law Mary Ring of Bradenton, FL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law – John and Lynn Nardi of Negaunee, Bob and Robyn Nardi of Ishpeming, Paul and Cindy Heino of Ishpeming, Michael and Diane Nardi of Ishpeming and Louie and Chris Nardi of Marquette; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Stephen Ring.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 4 until 6PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00PM on Tuesday with Fr. Larry Van Damme to officiate.
