Angeline Sundberg

NEGAUNEE, MI – Angeline Inez ‘Angie’ Sundberg, 96, of Negaunee, entered eternal life early Friday morning, December 6, 2019 at the Eastwood Nursing Center.

Angie was born November 8, 1923 in Gwinn to Andrew and Johanna (Pedireva) Guizzetti, graduated from Negaunee St. Paul School, Class of ’41 and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at the 1st National Bank of Negaunee for 26 years as a proof operator and head bookkeeper.

Mrs. Sundberg was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, the Paisano Club and the Sons of Italy. In her spare time, she enjoyed being at the family camp on Blue Lake, traveling, cooking and baking, playing BINGO, and an occasional trip to the casino. In her younger years, she enjoyed crafting and ceramics.

Surviving are her son, Everett ‘Jerry’ (Rochelle) Sundberg of Ishpeming; daughter, Judith Dube of Ishpeming; five grandchildren: Debra (Terry) Frisk, Bill (Jeanne) Jenkin, Theresa (Mark) Stephan, Greg (Traci) Sundberg and Lynn (Brian) Mattila; 10 great-grandchildren; and special niece and nephew, Colleen and Ray Richards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett ‘Swede’ Sundberg in 2003; an infant son, Scott in 1953; sister, Lucille Richards; and a son-in-law, Laurence Dube.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 13th at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday, and also at a luncheon immediately following services at the St. Paul School Gymnasium.
