Keith Holmquist

MENOMINEE, MI – Keith V. Holmquist, 82, of Menominee, MI died Tuesday evening, November 12, 2019, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo, WI.

He was born February 1, 1937 in Trenary, Michigan to Carl and Kathleen (Kiser) Holmquist. He graduated from Trenary High School in 1955. He went on to serve in the United States Navy where he attained the rank of 2nd Class Pipefitter and was honorably discharged in 1962.

From 1964 to 1969 he served an apprenticeship with the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and obtained Journeyman Plumber’s licenses from both Michigan and Wisconsin. He served on many offices and committees with Local 786 and was a life member of Local 111. Keith was a longtime member of the M&M Antique Auto Club and proudly displayed his 1954 Chevy pickup truck, “Old Blue”, at local car shows.

He married the former Dorothy Mariin on June 13, 1959 at Eben Junction, Mich. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2016.

He is survived by a daughter, Annette (Joseph) Bronkhorst; a son, John Holmquist; a brother, Bruce Holmquist; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Holmquist and Ruth Holmquist; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by parents and grandparents; brothers, Carl, Jr., Gordon and Eugene Holmquist; sisters, Neola Juntanen and Thelma (Robert) Carlson; and an aunt, June Kiser Short.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette, WI on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. (CST) A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Duncan Ross officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Keith’s name to North Shore Church Building Fund in Menominee are suggested.
