Michael Berry

Mike was born on December 20, 1955, in Marquette to Edward and Patricia (Rice) Berry. He was a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and later attended the Jacobetti Skills Center on the campus of NMU receiving a certificate in diesel mechanics.

Mike was employed with Associated Constructors for many years as a diesel mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, walking through the woods, 4-wheeling, tinkering with just about anything, especially cars, and taking things apart and putting them back together again.

More than anything else however, Mike enjoyed special moments with his grandchildren.

Mike was the proud father of three daughters, Elyse Berry of Ishpeming, Mallorie (Justin Metcalf) Berry of Negaunee, and Maranda Berry of Brillion, WI; loving grandfather of , Kaleb, London, Mateo, Jordyn, and Kendrick; survived by his father, Edward Berry of Big Bay; one brother, Gary (Jackie Spitz) Berry of Marquette, Debbie Carlstrom of Gwinn, Kate Spitz-Berry and Claire Spitz-Berry, both of Trenary; two nieces, Samantha Spitz and Amanda Spitz; also two nephews, Gary Berry, Jr. and Edwin Carlstrom.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Berry as well as several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Mike’s life will take place on Saturday, September 7th at the home of Edward Berry, 2991 County Road 550, Big Bay, MI 49808 beginning at 2 p.m.
