MUNISING, MI — Mary Ann Livermore, age 77, of Munising, died with her loving family surrounding her on Monday afternoon, September 2, 2019 at Medilodge in Munising.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 21, 1942 to Brun and Evelyn (Ryan) Suszylo. Mary’s parents separated when she and her siblings were young and her mother married Frank Maki and they moved to the U.P. She attended Eben and Wm. G. Mather High Schools.

Mary worked at the Dogpatch as a cook and then at Hub’s as a baker. She also worked at the Sears store before going to the Kewadin casino where she was a shift manager. Mary had married Norman R. Livermore, Jr. on July 17, 1976 and together raised their five children. She was active in the Munising Booster Club and enjoyed watching her children play sports and supporting the Mustangs. Mary was one of the inaugural spaghetti dinner moms. She made the best mashed potatoes and was an excellent baker, always supplying cookies to her family and friends. Mary passed her love of the Hallmark and Lifetime channels onto each of her children. She cherished Christmas time as her favorite time of the year, and Mary was so very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by husband of over forty-three years – Norman of Munising; children – Don (Jody) Tweedale of Munising; Blair (Jilene) Tweedale of Christmas, Tammy (Tom) Cook of Munising, Larry (Carol) Tweedale of Ishpeming, and Norma (Larry) Dick of Munising; fourteen grandchildren – Bryce, Kimberly, Blair (Tessa) Jr., Travis (Courtney), Erica (Shaun), Josh, Jordan, Valerie (Jaris), Emily, Chelsey, Tyler (Leah), Carly, Matthew, and Lydia; eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way; sisters – Beatrice Pollock of Howell, MI and Bernice (Larry) Niemi of Kaleva, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Brun Suszylo, Frank Maki, and Evelyn Maki, and her sister Diane Feeley.

Services for Mary will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019. Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mary will be escorted by her grandsons. Pastor Ann Gonyea will celebrate Mary’s funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Eden Lutheran Church in Munising with a luncheon to follow. Her obituary may be found at bowermanfuneralhome.net
