MARQUETTE, MI — Mary Ann Bagnell-Wealton, 79, of Marquette, died Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Norlite Nursing Center in the presence of her loving family and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.

Mary Ann was born July 28, 1940 in Negaunee, a daughter of the late William and Angela (Catanesi) Beattie. She graduated from Bishop Baraga High School and then enjoyed a long career as both a secretary and bookkeeper for several entities including Bill Green Supply.

Some of Mary Ann’s hobbies were frequent walks around Presque Isle with her husband, George, also reading, knitting, crocheting and cooking. She was a member of American Legion Post #44 auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, George, who she married on January 26. 1994 in Marquette; two sons, William (Lisa) Bagnell of Greenville, NC and Robert (Robyn) Bagnell of Winchester, CA; two step-sons, Robert Wealton of Marquette and Daniel (Joanne) Wealton of Charlotte, NC; also four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a grandson, Tony Bagnell.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home with Rev. Jernej Sustar officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.

The Bagnell and Wealton families would like to extend a note of sincere appreciation to the staff of the Norlite Nursing Center who became extended family members during Mary Ann’s time of residence with them.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Norlite Nursing Center Activities Fund, 701 Homestead St., Marquette, MI 4.
