CHAMPION, MI – Carrie Lynn (nee Keski) Tarvainen, age 44, longtime Champion area resident passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2019 at her home in Champion.

Carrie was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on August 23, 1974, a daughter of Denise (Beaupied) and the late Steven Keski. Carrie grew up in Champion and was a graduate of the Westwood High School. She loved being with her family, babysitting her grandchildren and being involved with her church – Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She worked for several years with the Iron Mountain Labors Union #1329 a EMT with Champion Twp. as well as being a CNA at the Eastwood Nursing Center along will other various jobs.

Carrie is survived by her parents James and Denise Belpedio of Champion; two daughters, Brooke (John Jessen) Tarvainen of Ishpeming and Jolene (Jason Marta) Tarvainen of Champion; son, Nicholas Tarvainen of Negaunee; sister Andrea (Shawn Skytta) Belpedio of Michigamme; brothers, Gabriel (Sarah) Ryan of Ishpeming and Shawn Dellis of Michigamme; grandchildren – Isabella & Alexander Marta, Scotty Willey III, Cooper & Conner Tarvainen along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James Tarvainen, father Steven Keski, grandparents -Galyce and Lois Beaupied, Ellen Keski and Marcella Belpedio.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM in the church with Pastor Paul Peterson to officiate. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Champion.
