Richard Miller

GWINN, MI – Richard L. Miller, 72, of Gwinn, died early Monday morning, May 6, 2019, at his home in the loving presence of his family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Richard was born on September 6, 1946, in Pontiac, MI, to the late Leroy and Mayme (Puckett) Miller. He served since 1974 as an ordained Free Will Baptist Deacon. Richard was also previously employed by General Motors as a heavy equipment operator in their foundry as well as a construction worker building homes and churches. He was known to be a “jack of all trades.”

In his free time, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Ann Curtis whom he married on August 31, 1972, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Pontiac; three tender loving caregivers who are his family, April Clark and Susie Coburn both of Gwinn and Erika Olsen of Little Lake; one sister, Patty Viney of Kissimmee, FL and a brother, David (Joan) Knight of Waterford, MI; sister-in-law, Laura Knight of Gwinn; also nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and great and great, great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were siblings, Marilyn, Robert, Dale, and Danny.

Friends may call at the Canale Gwinn Funeral Home on Monday, May 13th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with pastors Greg Floars and Bruce Ravenscroft officiating. Burial will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
