Norman W. Johnson

He was born on January 8, 1927 in Ensign, Michigan to Elma and Andrew Johnson and had five siblings, Edna, Oscar, Axel, Gunner and George who preceded him in death.

Norman married Mae Lahti in 1973 who has four children, Lisa (Gordon) Berkel, Harrison Badge, Harlan Badge and Les Badge. He was Grandpa Norman to all his all grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service medal, United Nations medal, 2 Purple Heart medals, National Defense Service medal and was a Gold Star 2nd Purple Heart recipient.

Norman belonged to the Rapid River American Legions Post and was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Gwinn.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 10 am as part of their regular Sunday Service at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Bre Kinnunen officiating.

A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall.

Interment will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery with military honors.
