MCMILLAN, MI – Jacqueline “Jackie” Lucille Jensen passed away in McMillan, Michigan on May 22, 2019. She will now be reunited with family and friends she hasn’t seen in a long time.

Jackie was born in Manistique, Michigan on March 2, 1951, to her parents, William and Dorothy Bays. In 1953 the family moved to Newberry and Jackie graduated from the Newberry High School in 1969. After high school, she attended Eastern Michigan University for two years then moved to Germany for two years. Upon returning to the states, her first son Barry was born in 1973 in Newberry. Then in 1976, her second son, Sean, was born in Traverse City. In 1976, they moved to Marquette where she worked for Donald W. Bays Law Offices for 35 years.

After retirement, Jackie moved to her summer home on Big Manistique Lake where she spent time enjoying her love of the cottage through swimming, riding sea doo’s, gardening, riding through the countryside on her Polaris Ranger, teaching the grandkids to swim and water ski and many pontoon rides.

For the past several years, she spent the winter months traveling the country visiting friends and family, and spending time with her sons and grandchildren in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

She leaves behind many who mourn her and celebrate the incredible life she lived. Her family and countless friends will forever remember the legacy she left behind.

Preceding her in death were her father and mother William and Dorothy Bays, twin sister Judy Bergh, grandson Charlie William and nephew Ryan.

Survivors include her sons Barry and Sean; siblings Ted Bays, Donald (Candy) Bays, Barbara (Lonnie) McPhee and Beverly Bays; nephew Zac Bergh; grandchildren Avery, Sydney, Cannon, Charlie Elizabeth, Kaylee and Wyatt, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church in Newberry on Saturday June 22, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Jackie will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Melinda VanderSys officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jackie’s life.
