NEGAUNEE, MI – Carolyn Ann Howard, 82, formerly of E. Main St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 29, 2019, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Carolyn was born June 13, 1936, in Birmingham, MI to Perrin and Ruth (Millar) Shattuck and graduated from Birmingham High School, Class of 1954. She furthered her education at Michigan State University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Business. She worked as a teacher at various schools in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor areas.
While she enjoyed expansive traveling, her favorite place to be was at the family cottage in Lewiston.
Surviving are her son, Matthew of Negaunee; her daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Stein of Milwaukee; three grandchildren: Trevor Howard and Madeline and Samantha Stein; and son-in-law, John Simpson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Kristol Simpson.
Honoring Carolyn’s wishes, family graveside services will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, MI.
