James J. Delongchamp

NORTH BELLE VERNON, PA – James J. Delongchamp, 85, formerly of Ishpeming, MI, who relocated to North Belle Vernon, PA passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.

Born July 6, 1933, in Calumet, MI, he was the son of the late Maxim and Gertrude LaForest Delongchamp. Mr. Delongchamp was retired from Cleveland Cliffs Mining Co., where he worked as an Electrician. James was a member of the Hiawatha amateur radio club, was active with the Hiawatha Music Festival, Marquette, MI, involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and was an avid gun collector.

He is survived by daughter & son-in-law: Debbie & Terry Russell of North Belle Vernon; son & daughter-in-law Keith & Evelyn Delongchamp of Sheboygan, WI; four grandchildren: Brad Russell, Lance Russell of North Belle Vernon, Corrina Delongchamp, Ethan Delongchamp of Sheboygan, WI; two great-grandchildren: Mikayla Russell, Mathew Russell of North Belle Vernon; brother & sister-in-law: David & Carol Delongchamp of Ishpeming, MI; four sisters & brother-in-law: Maxine Rojen of San Diego, CA, Valerie Paquette of Black River Falls, WI, Diane & Richard Slater of Birch Run, MI, Mary Lou S. Pinkerton of Vancouver, WA.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes T. Carriere Delongchamp; son, Dale J. Delongchamp and brother, Leon Delongchamp.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Ishpeming, MI on August 9, 2019, from 1-4 PM. Interment will take place in Northland Chapel Gardens, Negaunee, MI.
