ELY TWP, MI – Norman D. Pittsley, age 64 of 26152 US Hwy 41 W. Champion (Ely Twp) passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at UP Health System Marquette where he had been a patient for the past 4 weeks.

Norman was born March 2, 1954 in Bessemer, MI to Robert Lee and Elaine (Brownell) Pittsley. Norm owned and operated Pitts Auto in Champion and worked as a motor carrier newspaper delivery man for The Mining Journal.

Norm known as “Stormin Norman” to many loved camping, cooking, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed sharing a Busch Light with anyone.

Norm is survived by his wife Sherry (Croshere) Pittsley, 2 daughters: Rebecca (William) Prisk of Champion and Amanda (Brady) Williams of Parachute, CO, 5 grandchildren: Elisa (Michael) Cowling, Cassandra (Michael) Linne, Sebastian Williams, Cody Williams and Hunter Prisk, 2 great grandchildren: Elijah Cowling and Emma Linne, 2 brothers: Dennis Pittsley, Bruce (Sharon) Pittsley, 3 sisters: Donna (John) Mercier, Rhonda McClure and Phyllis (Steve) Wallenius, mother in law Elizabeth “Betty” Croschere, special sister in law Sandy (Dave) Lusardi, special nephew David Croschere Jr. and special niece Crystal (Keith) Swenor, along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson Ethan Cowling, sisters: Tina Benarides, Roberta Vizina, and Ora Lee Westie, brother in laws: Lloyd Croschere Jr, David Croschere Sr, Phillip Westie and father in law Lloyd Croshere Sr.

A prayer service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday October 14, 2018 at the Greenwood American Legion Post 114, 3050 Co. Rd. 496 Ishpeming with a pot luck luncheon to follow.
