ISHPEMING, MI – Bernard David Ferguson (Dave), age 71 of 603 Vine St. was pronounced dead at his home on Monday October 1, 2018.

Dave was born in Detroit, MI on January 16, 1947 to the late Harold and Clara Ferguson. He attended school in Marquette before enlisting in the Army where he earned a purple heart while serving in Vietnam. After his military service Dave married Judi Tibidow, also from Michigan, and they had 3 children together, Scott, Michelle and Christopher (Chris).

In 1978, Dave began his trucking career and drove the entire United States multiple times. In 1980, Dave married Valorie (Light) Ferguson and they had 2 children, Matthew and Rebecca (Becky). They lived in Colorado for most of their marriage apart from a few years in the Upper Peninsula. Dave would take his son Matthew with him during summer months to travel in the semi together across the country.

Dave loved watching baseball, the Cubbies and the Colorado Rockies with his daughter Becky. Dave spent many games at Coors Field watching the Rockies play and loved taking his daughter, Becky and grandkids with him. He loved trying to beat his daughter, Becky, and brother, Patrick, at cribbage any chance he could get. He also loved eating a good steak, medium-well and would always save his dog, Lindsey a piece for her dinner. He loved his dog more than anything.

Dave is survived by his children, Becky & (Mike) McClain of Evans, Colorado, and their 6 kids, Trevin, Bailey, Tessa, Kailey, Derrick & Gracie. Matthew & (Mariah) Ferguson of Johnstown, Colorado, and their 2 kids, Madison and Malorie. Michelle of Florida and her 3 kids. Chris & (Jacqueline) Ferguson of Cabot, Arkansas, and their daughter Alexis. His beloved Golden Retriever, Lindsey.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brothers, Patrick, Robert and Michael, his wife Valorie and his son, Scott.

A Military Honors Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday October 4, 2018 at the Ishpeming Cemetery, Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #380.
