Robert ‘Bob’ Storch Sr.

TRENARY, MI – Robert “Bob” “Bobalou” Storch, Sr., age 69, of Trenary, died late Thursday, evening, August 30, 2018 at his home under the care of his loving family and North Woods Home Hospice.

He was born on October 8, 1948 in Marquette, Michigan to the late John and Elaine (LaLonde) Storch. Bob grew up in Trenary and played High School Basketball for the Comets. During his senior year, he entered into the United States Army where he honorably served in Vietnam. Bob was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Marksman Rifle Badge. He was honorably discharged on October 3, 1968. Bob married Becky Bost and together they raised their four children. He worked as a logger for many years, working with Seymour Forest Products and Lenny Gustafson. Bob enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors, but his favorite thing of all was fishing. He loved fishing of any kind and anywhere he could, chasing brook trout and Walleye on the inland lakes, ice fishing Munising Bay, or trolling for Lake Trout, Bob was happy. He also enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers and taking a hot sauna. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #349 in Little Lake.

He is survived by his children – Larry (Norma) Dick of Munising, Lorie (Donald Evans) Wallace of Evansville, Indiana, Robert (Erin Kiraly) Storch, Jr. of Trenary, and Jeremy Storch of Trenary; dear friend and soulmate – Val Storch of Trenary; grandchildren – Carly, Matthew, Lydia, Jodie, Aaron, and Dakota; great-grandchildren – Alice, Jay, Mason, and Brayden; siblings – Charlie (Karen) Storch of Texas, Fred (Linda) Storch of Mason, MI, Betty (Leo) Aho of Rapid River, Sally Williams of Jackson, MI, and Connie (Mike) Young of Gladstone; special nephew – Derek Storch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill and Jim Storch.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Trenary Tavern in Trenary, there will be time to share stories and enjoy the company of Bob’s family and friends, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary, where the Little Lake Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
