Edward Warren

MICHIGAMME – Edward A. Warren, age 82, lifelong Spurr Twp. resident, of 22664 Koskela Rd. passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at UP Health System Marquette after a brief battle with Cancer.

Edward was born June 29, 1936 on the family farm in Spurr Twp., to the late Edwin and Lily (Lepisto) Warren. He attended the Spurr Twp School. “Eddie” as he was known, worked for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. first at the Republic Mine and then the Tilden Mine mainly in the Pit as a laborer. He retired in 1997 after over 30 years with the CCI.

Eddie was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his antique guns, collecting scale model Tractors, attending the senior meals in Michigamme, Tuesday Cribbage, and woodworking, making many bird houses and bird feeders.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years Karen R. Warren of Michigamme, brother James (Pat) Warren of Michigamme, son Edward (Brandi) Warren of Cascade, WI, stepchildren – Shirley (Robert) Inman of Hales Corners, WI, Pamela (Edmond) Verville of Kalamazoo, Theresa (Thomas) Prisk of Michigamme, Linda Thornton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Randall Piechocki of St. Petersburg, FL, along with several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and 2 infant brothers.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1-2pm on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Champion, MI. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm on Sunday with the Rev. Paul Peterson to officiate.

A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.
