Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Rushlow

GWINN, MI – Elizabeth “Liz” (Mesechoff) Rushlow, 79, of Gwinn, left this world to join her husband, Vince “Grizz” Rushlow on Monday, August 27th surrounded by her daughter, Renee, her dog, Bear, and through not by blood, but family all the same, “daughter” Michelle and “granddaughter” Naria.

Liz was born on May 18, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Steve and Betty Mesechoff. She married Vince on September 1, 1962. They lived, worked and began a family in Allen Park, Michigan before moving to Arnold in 1976.

Liz was a first responder with her husband in Wells Township for many years. She was also a bus driver for Gwinn and Wells Township Schools for 30+ years.

Liz enjoyed crafting, making cheesecakes, watching movies, and loving her dog, Bear.

She is survived by daughters, Renee Rushlow, Michele (Mark) DeShambo, and Michelle Ford-Thompson, all of Gwinn; her dog, Bear; granddaughters, Anika Jamison of Grand Rapids, Amber (Francis) Pleaugh of Gwinn, and Naria Ford-Thompson of Gwinn.

A special thank you to friends, Vicki Sirois and Rene Beseler for loving and helping take care of Liz over the last two years. You were both a blessing to Liz and us. Also to U.P. Home Health and Hospice; thank you for allowing us to bring Liz home and for showing her grace, tenderness and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Grille, 97 W. M-35 in Gwinn on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. Come, eat and remember Liz.
