Margo Ruman

MARQUETTE, MI – Margo Ruman, 64, of Marquette, died peacefully early Thursday morning, December 14, 2017 at UP Health System-Marquette in the presence of her loving sister following a long illness.

Margo was born of November 16, 1953 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, one of three daughters born to Edward and Esther (Hinseth) Ruman. She and her family moved to Marquette in 1963. She was a 1972 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and 1984 graduate of Northern Michigan University.

In her early working years, Margo was employed at the Pizzarena, Cliff’s Ridge Ski Area, Shopko, the Magic Dragon, at the former Cat’s Meow in Marquette, but the majority of her career was spent working as a well-known realtor for several local real estate agencies.

Margo was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Marquette Beautification Committee.

She is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Ruman and Mary (Bob Meyers) Ruman, both of Marquette; two uncles, Louie Ruman of Tabor, SD and Lumir (Marcy) Ruman of Tyndall, SD; also several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Margo’s life will take place on Aug. 2, 2018 at the Ore Dock Brewing Company, 114 Spring St., Marquette from 5 – 8 PM. Friends and family are welcome to come visit, tell stories and enjoy some light snacks.
