Victoria Baldini

ISHPEMING, MI – Victoria Anne (Vicki) Baldini, age 66, of 1995 Southwood Dr., Ishpeming passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 while in the loving care of her family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Vicki was born September 8, 1951 in Ishpeming the daughter of Martin W. and Anna V. (Trondson) Koivula. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School Class of 1969 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Northern Michigan University in 1974. Vicki worked for many years as an office manager for Northern Airmotive, Bell Financial, and the Superior Watershed partnership, retiring in 2014.

Vicki was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as finance chair for the past 35 years, along with being active in many other committees and circles. She also held many positions in the church over the years on the council, financial secretary, and treasurer. Her most enjoyable pastime was quilting.

She was involved with “Sisters of the Cloth” a group that helps to organize the annual Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp Quilt and Fine Art Auction each October. Vicki and Gary enjoyed traveling around the United States in their 5th wheel camper and in timeshare units during the winter. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter Caroline, “the light of their life”.

Survivors include her husband Gary Baldini whom she married on January 19, 1974 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, daughter, Melissa (Luke) Salminen of Marquette, son, Brad (Ariel) Baldini of Minneapolis, MN, granddaughter Caroline Salminen, sister, Helen (Ernest) Johnson of Marquette, brother, Rodney (Virginia) Koivula of Ishpeming, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law– Craig (Cathy) Baldini of Negaunee, Kathie Swan of Mt. Pleasant, Dorree (George) Sleight of Minneapolis, MN, and Annette (Dave Rose) Chaperon of West Jordan, UT, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and six great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers– Allen, Robert, Jack, and Edward (Bucky) Koivula.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held at 4 pm with the Rev. Lauri Maki to officiate. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 414 E. Ridge Street, Ishpeming or Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp.
