FORT MYERS, FL – Sheila Bucklin, 77, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018.

Sheila was born on November 16, 1940 in Ashland, Wisconsin to the late Glenn and Sylvia (Tusa) Wooster. She graduated from Bloomfield Hills High School and later received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Michigan University. She married the love of her life, Richard Bucklin on August 14, 1965 in Traverse City. She had been employed in various schools in Michigan as an elementary and preschool teacher. Sheila was an avid reader, she enjoyed sewing, swimming, taking walks, and traveling. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard, a son and two daughters: William Bucklin, Barbara Bucklin, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Scarpellino, three grandchildren: Angela Bucklin, Amelia Bucklin, and Andrew Scarpellino as well as a great-granddaughter, Anahi Bucklin. Also surviving are her sisters: Nona Bos, Pamela (Paul) McFarland, and Marcia Davis.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Keith (Patricia) Wooster.

Friends are welcome to visit with Sheila’s family on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth, Traverse City, Michigan 49684.

A funeral service honoring Sheila will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12, with visiting starting at 10 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pastor Paul Busekist will officiate. Burial will be in Downs Cemetery in Buckley.
